Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan (you can look it up, if you want), and we had only two things to accomplish here:
(1) Get our Iran visas; and
(2) Get our Turkmenistan transit visas.
That’s it.

Thanks to our crazy stay of more than two weeks in Tashkent, there wasn’t much time left for taking in the sights of the rest of the country. In fact, that plus the fact that we had already had it up to here with Central Asia meant that we restricted ourselves to the two most obvious places: Samarkand and Bukhara.
